Position

Reporting to the Vice President HR Operations, the Senior Director will assess and provide strategic HR guidance to client executives and onsite teams, will master and implement our systems and processes with consulting teams, and will lead Human Resources practices and objectives that provide a high performance culture emphasizing competence, confidence, compliance, accountability for quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The successful candidate will be the resident expert on HR for the team and will be a member of the leadership counsel for HR Services with Payroll, Benefits, and HR Care Team Directors.

Responsabilities

  • Consult directly with client to increase performance and limit liability; implement human resources strategies by participating in client strategy sessions and by establishing position and department accountabilities, evaluating staffing needs, employment processing and development, records management, employee relations, succession planning, and employment law compliance.

  • Manage a team of 15-20 HR Business Partners/Consultants supporting approximately 75 HR Services clients (balancing workloads by business size, turnover, demands, etc.)  Recruiting, selecting, training, coaching and counseling team members are crucial as well as planning monitoring, appraising, and reviewing team job contributions.

  • Support client management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions, by analyzing information and applications, and by forecasting needs and options.

  • Assist with escalated client or client employee issues; guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and supervising the updating of policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.

  • With regard to team management, ensures mastery of HRIS platform and efficient use of systems; complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new employment legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on recommended actions.

  • Support HR managers and teams by coaching them on responses to employee complaints and management questions; prepare and deliver training so as to increase performance and limit liability.

  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Audit forms, policies, and processes for compliance and improvement, revise as necessary.

  • Maintain employment files, storage records, client records securing for HIPAA compliance.

  • Utilize existing company technology or evaluate and recommend technology solutions to automate and streamline HR processes to clients.

  • Manage employee performance review process, making changes and enhancements necessary to support both the culture and strategic changes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • BA or BS degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or another related discipline;

  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification.

  • At least ten years of progressive HR experience; strong employee relations background with at least five years of HR management experience.

  • Ability to coach employees and management through complex emotional issues.

  • Must be able to train and effectively manage, recruit, nurture, and lead a team.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills.

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with extensive client base as well as employees on understanding and embracing HR policies and procedures.

  • Solid understanding of the application of HR and Payroll processes to federal and state laws to limit client liability.

  • Ability to listen effectively to employee’s concerns across all levels within the organization; counsel, advise, and persuade based on experience.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and related HRIS platforms.

  • Solid communication/presentation skills with all levels of the organization; excellent written skills; strong organizational ability.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated effective leadership skills.

  • Ability to display sensitivity, tact, and responsiveness in various situations and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Active affiliation with appropriate HR networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement preferred; possess ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organizations that practice effective HR Management.
