Whit Smith
Founder, President
Whit serves as an expert witness and consulting expert in matters relating to Title VII discrimination, age, disability, sexual harassment, mitigation (employability and job search effort), recruitment practices, policy issues and tort claims involving negligent hiring, negligent retention and wrongful termination. He is licensed as a private investigator by the Private Security Bureau through the Texas Department of Public Safety and a professional safety source to the Texas Department of Insurance. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Personnel Management and Marketing, he also completed the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking program at Southern Methodist University.
Gretchen Smith
Co-Founder, Executive Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer
Gretchen is a Certified Public Accountant and serves as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer. She is licensed as a private investigator by the Private Security Bureau through the Texas Department of Public Safety with a major Texas bank holding company and lead bank, with experience in credit administration and policy development, loan administration, commercial lending and internal auditing. Gretchen has a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a graduate of the Southern Graduate School of Banking program at Southern Methodist University. She has over 40 years of business experience in management positions and serves on a number of nonprofit boards.
Cheryl J. Lopez
Senior Vice President, PHR, CCP, SHRM-CP
Cheryl Possesses extensive and comprehensive Human Resources knowledge, with primary emphasis in compensation. Her experience also includes concentration in the areas of employee relations, training, expert witness testimony, HR legal and regulatory compliance, equal employment opportunity, investigations and performance management systems. She has been with WhitneySmith Co. since march 1990 and previously served as Vice President and Manager of Compensation for a major Texas bank holding company. She is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University with a B.B.A. in Banking and Finance. Cheryl is licensed as a private investigator by the Private Security Bureau through the Texas Department of Public Safety and has numerous training hours in conflict resolution, negotiation, medication and arbitration
Bob Mitchell

Bob has over 40 years of executive level experience in the insurance and banking industries. Currently, Bob’s involvement includes service on a number of civic and corporate boards. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and an M.S. in Financial Services from The American College at Bryn Mawr.

Ben has over 17 years of recruiting experience, including screening and interviewing potential candidates, managing research efforts, conducting reference checks, creating job specifications and developing proposals for business development in relation to client needs. Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas in Austin and earned an M.B.A. from Texas Christian University. He is a graduate of the 1990 Leadership Fort Worth class, is actively involved as a Board Member for the Hill School of Fort Worth and is mentor for Fort Worth Chamber of commerce Vision Fort Worth Mentoring Program.

Her industry experience is diverse and includes hospitality and nonprofit. Corina is licensed as a private investigator by the Private Security Bureau through the Texas Department of Public Safety. She is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management and has her Master’s in Business Administration from Tarleton State University.
